Farmed by Loving Hands and Hearts
Ananda Valley Farm is a branch of our Ananda Sangha community in Palo Alto, CA (which in turn is one of several Ananda Sangha intentional communities worldwide). At Ananda, we practice the Yoga & Meditation teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda as taught by his direct disciple, Swami Kriyananda. Ananda Valley Farm provides a beautiful setting to bring the high ideals of simple-living and high-thinking into practice by daily meditation and joyful, selfless service.
Yoga Farming Practices
Our managers and many of our volunteers are long-time meditators. There is a special joy in farming consciously, and the plants respond to the kindness and sensitivity of the farmers who work with them. Our farming practices revolve around learning how to work with Nature in expansive and harmonious ways.
"All nature is the mother aspect of God because in nature we behold beauty, gentleness, and kindness."
- Paramhansa Yogananda
“The secret of improved plant breeding,
apart from scientific knowledge, is love.”
—Luther Burbank
